Sotira Waterfall, at the foot of Mount Tomor, is one of the most beautiful natural sites in Albania, which attracts many tourists during spring.
This waterfall was named Sotira after the village where it is located in Gramsh area. The first visitors of this year say that it is a wonderful destination, worth visiting and where you can organize camping or have a picnic too, though they add that there is still need to promote it as a tourist destination. To this reason, the Administration of Protected Areas has launched from Gramsh the campaign to promote the waterfalls of Elbasan district.
The problem to visit the waterfall has mainly to do with the depreciated road infrastructure, while Municipality of Gramsh gives the good news that its reconstruction will start very soon.
"The project is being prepared and very soon it will go through legal procedures. The road will get asphalted from the city of Gramsh to Sotira Waterfall until the exit to Berat. So not only the city will be connected with the destination, but also Gramsh area, the city of Berat and other areas too," said the Mayor of Gramsh, Besian Ajazi.
The Sotira Waterfall is just one of dozens of spectacular areas in the Municipality of Gramsh. The canyons of Holta, Kabashi Cave, Lake Black attract thousands of tourists every year.
