Xiaomi, the Chinese consumer technology brand, has launched a new TV accessory in India called the Mi TV Webcam. As the name suggests, the accessory is meant to be used with TVs and will allow users to make video calls using their TV devices.

Xiaomi, the Chinese consumer technology brand, has launched a new TV accessory in India called the Mi TV Webcam. As the name suggests, the accessory is meant to be used with TVs and will allow users to make video calls using their TV devices.

Xiaomi has launched the Mi TV Webcam at Rs 1,999. It will be available starting June 28 only on Xiaomi platforms — Mi.com, Mi Home and Mi Studio.

The Xiaomi Mi TV Webcam houses a 2MP camera lens that offers up to 1080p (full HD) support @ 25fps. Buyers also get 71 degrees field of view making it easier to capture wide-angle frames.
The Mi TV Webcam comes equipped with Dual Far Field microphones that Xiaomi claims is able to capture clear audio up to 4 meters. It also boasts of an in-built 3D Image Noise Reduction algorithm, which is said to suppress noise in any image appearing in low light.

For the sake of privacy, Xiaomi has offered a physical shutter on the Mi TV Webcam. The frame of the webcam is made of metal and has an LED indicator for users to know that it is being used.

Xiaomi claims that the Mi TV Webcam offers a simple plug and play mechanism. It has an adjustable magnetic base that the company suggests allows users to easily attach the device to any metal surface on the TV.
The webcam is accompanied by a 1.5m removable USB Type C port.
Buyers can use the Mi TV Webcam with any Android TV 8 or above, Windows 7 or later and desktops.
