BATTLEFIELD 5 ALPHA: The test was released yesterday for a limited time

EA’s limited-time test began on Thursday, June 28 and allows fans to try out the upcoming World War II shooter game ahead of its release.

EA and Dice have confirmed it will be a closed, invite-only experience, meaning you need a key to join in.

The test will allow developers to get some feedback before the game’s launch on October, 19 this year.

It will be available for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

The Battlefield 5 Alpha release date was Thursday, June 28.

It went live at 9am BST, and will be available for a limited time only.

Those lucky enough to be invited with be able to try two of Battlefield 5’s modes, Battlefield V's modes: Conquest and Grand Operation Fall of Norway.

Because the test is invite-only, there is no real way of signing up to bag yourself a key.

The developers previously said “invitations with codes for the closed alpha will soon be sent to a small group of Battlefield players.

“These codes can be redeemed in the Origin client.”

This means if you haven’t already received an invite, you are not likely to get one – so check your inbox.

Later in the development phase the keys will be available to a lot more people.

The developers are this week only giving the keys out to certain people, and is designed for English speaking PC players.

The Battlefield 5 Alpha will be available in these regions:

Europe: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Georgia, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Moldova, Montenegro, Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovenia, Svalbard & Jan Myen, Slovakia, Spain, San Marino, Turkey.

North America: Canada, Mexico, United States.

The closed Alpha trial is a stress-test for the servers.

It allows for feedback on the WWII shooter game on gameplay, and will allow DICE to “improve several aspects of the game”.

Those lucky enough to bag an invite will be able to help developers test the stability, balance and more before the game’s launch.

EA and DICE released this information prior to the launch: “Following EA PLAY, the Closed Alpha will give selected players a hands-on experience of Battlefield V and, together with several other tests, it will be a way for us to stress-test servers and improve several aspects of the game, thanks to the participation and feedback from those taking part.

“As Closed Alpha participants get their hands on this early build, we will work to ensuring stability, balance, and more for Battlefield V as we work our way towards the October launch.”
